Our Gold Standard for the Global Goals Process

Our Gold Standard for the Global Goals Process

Our years of experience working with the Gold Standard for the Global Goals certification have allowed us to perfect our process, ensuring the best possible chance of success for your climate project(s).

But how exactly does it work? While each project can have slight variations due to the differences in scale and impact, the core of what we do remains mostly the same. Below we will briefly describe the basics:

- Our team is notified of your project, and will immediately download all the documentation you have uploaded. This documentation will be studied and read through, ensuring we know exactly what lies ahead.

- Once the initial reading has been completed, we will do a risk analysis to identify any high or medium emission source risks.

- After collecting evidence, we will share this with you and decide if a site visit is required or not.

- If a visit is required, we will inform both yourselves and the team who are responsible for carrying out such visits.

- Whether a visit is required or not, an audit plan including timelines for the project will be prepared and shared with you. This plan is not final and will be amended until you are happy to sign off on it!

- A “desk audit” will then take place, preparing. draft findings before the site visit or remote audit. These findings will be based on the documentation we receive from you and our experience from previous similar projects, but will not be final.

- The site visit will now take place if required

- If there is no site visit needed, there will be a “remote audit” where the project will be studied in great detail from our offices

- The results of the site visit or remote audit will be shared with you. In a very small number of cases, the project may be perfect and able to proceed without any changes or amendments. However, for the vast majority of projects, work will be required.

- After completing any required work that arose from our project, our team will check that everything is now correct. If any additional work is required, the process will repeat until all issues have been resolved.

- The project will be sent for independent review and validation.

- Depending on the findings of the independent review, amendments will be made to fix any issues, or the project will be completed!

Of course, the process is complex and requires a great deal of work and steps not mentioned here. However, by reading the above – you will have a general understanding and knowledge of how we work and the hard work that will go into ensuring your project has the best possible chance of success.

If you have any other questions about how the project works, please feel free to get in touch with us on help@sustain-cert.com - our team will be more than happy to assist.
