My grid-connected renewable energy project wishes to transition from another carbon crediting scheme to Global Standard Verified Emission Reductions (GS-VERs). Is my project eligible?
Possibly. Grid-connected Renewable Energy (RE) projects seeking to transition from another carbon crediting scheme to GS-VERs under Gold Standard for the Global Goals are exempted from the geographic, income, and penetration eligibility requirements listed in paragraph 2.1.3, V1.2, RE Activity Requirements but must still meet other eligibility requirements outlined in the document.
However, note that this exemption is only allowed to projects that started the first crediting period with the original carbon crediting scheme 01/01/2016 or later but before 24/01/2020.
